In keeping with the Intellectual Property Policy drawn from the Intellectual Property Guidelines and based on its Corporate Philosophy, the business and intellectual property units act in unison when formulating business and technological strategies. The intellectual property scenarios* created in this process serve as the basis for the filing of patent applications. OMRON has also built processes and setups for identification of wants and needs among customers from the patent applications they have filed. "The Intellectual Property Achievement Awards" is a collective term for the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Awards and the Japan Patent Office Commissioner Awards.
