OMRON Technology and Intellectual Property H.Q. and OMRON SINIC X Present Latest Research Findings at IROS 2024, Top-Tier Conference on Robotics
- October 11, 2024
The Technology and Intellectual Property H.Q. of OMRON Corporation (HQ: Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto; President and CEO: Junta Tsujinaga; hereinafter "OMRON") and OMRON SINIC X Corporation (HQ: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masaki Suwa; hereinafter "OSX") present eight of our latest research findings (one from the Technology and Intellectual Property H.Q. and seven from OSX) at the 2024 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2024). In addition, five of the research papers will be presented at ORAL PRESENTATIONS1).
Along with ICRA2), IROS is one of the world's largest international conferences in the robotics field. A total of 1,587 papers (about 47%) were accepted out of 3,344 submissions in 2024. The conference will be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on October 14-18. The Technology and Intellectual Property H.Q. presents "A low-cost, high-speed, and robust bin picking system for factory automation." In addition, OSX presents "Low-cost air hockey platform for human-robot interaction research," "Saguri-bot: zero-shot sim-to-real transfer for soft robotic object insertion," "Object manipulation by cooperative movement of a team of mobile robots," and more.
Furthermore, a research paper by Senior Researcher Kazutoshi Tanaka et al. has been selected as one of the finalists for the "IROS Best Entertainment and Amusement Paper Award sponsored by JTCF." The paper is one of four papers selected as the finalists.
For details, please refer to the link of each paper to be presented at IROS 2024.
1) At IROS 2024, the oral presentation formats are divided into ORAL PRESENTATIONS (15-minute oral presentation) and ORAL PITCH PRESENTATIONS (3-minute oral and poster presentations).
2) ICRA: IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation
