Ensure Employee Health and Sustain Supply Chain During "3 On the Spot"
In the summer of 2021, Vietnam was struggling with increasing cases of COVID-19 and many factories were forced to shut down. To sustain some manufacturing activity and keep the supply chain intact, the government of Vietnam introduced a “3 on the spot” policy for factories that were willing to continue operations. The rule required factories to remain open for 24 hours and arrange favorable conditions for employees to work, eat and sleep onsite. In response to this policy, OMRON Healthcare Manufacturing Vietnam Co., Ltd. put together a “3 on the spot” system in just two days and kept production going. Moreover, by hiring as many as 1,000 new employees after the lockdown, the team was able to achieve record production volumes and continue delivering healthcare products to users around the world. This is the team’s story.
