OMRON Awarded the 13th Intellectual Property Association of Japan Distinguished Service in Industry Award

OMRON Corporation (Headquarters: Kyoto, Japan; President & CEO: Yoshihito Yamada [TSE 6645]) announced today that it has received the 2016 Intellectual Property Association of Japan* (IPAJ) Distinguished Service in Industry Award. Established by the IPAJ in 2004, the award is presented each year to the member company with the most outstanding track record in dealing with IP. This year marks the 13th anniversary of this prestigious award.
True to its Mission "to improve lives and contribute to a better society," which was established by its Founder Kazuma Tateisi in 1959, OMRON has created numerous innovations and pursued new challenges by making continued efforts to develop better social infrastructures. The IPAJ was established in October 2002 through the efforts of researchers responsible for creating IP and the business managers who utilize it, with a view toward promoting needs-oriented IP studies.
With the participation of a broad range of individuals who have taken an interest in IP, the IPAJ aims to advance research activities involving creation, protection, and utilization of science and technology and contents, in a range of interdisciplinary studies that encompass law, economics, management, and international relations.
