FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEApril 24, 2007

Tokyo, Japan - OMRON Corporation (TSE:6645; ADR: OMRNY) has unveiled a new, global portal website for its industrial automation business, designed to ensure that OMRON's customers receive consistent, rapid, first-class service wherever their operations are based, and to boost OMRON's visibility on the Internet. The new OMRON Industrial Automation Global Website can be accessed at http://www.ia.omron.com

Global Gateway to Local Support

  1. Accounting for approximately 40% of total revenues, OMRON's industrial automation business has sales and service bases in locations throughout the world, with roughly half of its sales generated outside Japan. This global growth has been supported by a highly localized level of service, in which OMRON's country-specific, local-language websites have played a crucial role.

The new portal site is a 'one-stop-shop' for the latest information in English on OMRON's full-range of industrial automation products and services, and their availability around the world. Optimized for maximum search engine visibility, the site will also connect potential and existing customers to OMRON's regional websites via an easy-to-navigate map on its top page. Enquiries received through the portal site will be redirected to the relevant OMRON office and answered by local staff. Meanwhile, OMRON's Industrial Automation Global Service Center in Japan will analyze these enquiries for valuable customer insights that can be reflected in future product design and customer services.

Built with customers' ease-of-use as its number one priority, the new portal site features an intuitive search system designed to help customers effortlessly navigate the wealth of information available. As a valued partner to some of the world's biggest manufacturers, OMRON is committed to providing a standardized and uniform service to its global customers. Toward this end, OMRON's industrial automation business is now working towards unifying design and information recency across its local sites.
