Underscoring Commitment to Women窶冱 Leadership and Gender-Driven Business Transformation
OMRON Corporation (HQ: Shimogyo-Ku, Kyoto. President and CEO: Junta Tsujinaga) announced today that it has been selected as the "Nadeshiko Brand", a joint initiative by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan and the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) to felicitate enterprises that encourage women's success in the workplace. This is the eighth time that OMRON has been selected for this recognition.
The Nadeshiko Brand is a significant endorsement for enhancing medium to long term corporate value and raising a company's appeal to investors. This time OMRON was evaluated as follows:
笆Evaluation Points
OMRON aims to create a workplace environment where diverse talent can make the most of their individuality and capabilities, enabling them to thrive while contributing to the resolution of social issues through its business activities. Guided by this approach, the company promotes diversity by expanding opportunities for women through two key pillars: career support and work-life balance support, fostering diverse role models. As part of its career support initiatives, OMRON is strengthening the development and promotion of women leaders, building and expanding women's networks, and encouraging mutual professional development.
The company also believes that support for balancing work and family, regardless of gender, is indispensable. In Japan, through measures such as supervisors personally explaining childcare leave systems and confirming intentions to use them with male employees reporting pregnancy or submitting birth notifications - alongside the establishment of consultation desks and other support measures - , the average duration childcare leave taken by male employees in the domestic group has exceeded two months for three consecutive years since fiscal 2022, and the take-up rate in fiscal 2024 reached 72%.
Going forward, OMRON will continue to accelerate its efforts to further promote the active participation of women in the workforce, while fostering an awareness and culture in which diverse human resources can thrive, to enable growth of both individuals and the company.
