The "Kyoto Prefecture Contributors to Industries Award " was established to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the industrial development of Kyoto Prefecture through the management of commercial and industrial organizations or business activities. It has been in place since 1981. This is the second time OMRON has received this award, the first being in 2010 when Nobuo Tateishi, then Adviser, was honored.

Fumio Tateishi joined OMRON Corporation (formerly OMRON Tateisi Electronics Co.) in 1975. After acquiring extensive management experience at the company's subsidiaries in Canada and Europe, he was appointed chairman of the board in 2013. As a global company originating from Kyoto, OMRON has accelerated business expansion into countries around the world and contributed to strengthening Kyoto's industrial base.
Fumio Tateishi has also held key positions in economic organizations within Kyoto Prefecture, dedicating himself to the industrial development of Kyoto and contributions to the local community.

Furthermore, since 2020, as the chairman of the Tateisi Science and Technology Foundation, he has contributed to the development of science and technology in Japan through grants for research activities and international exchanges that promote the harmony between humans and machines.

笆Comment by Honorary Advisor Fumio Tateishi
I am truly honored to receive this prestigious award. Looking back on my ten years as Chairman of the Board, I believe I have been able to get somewhat closer to the founder's aspiration of "creating a better society." Furthermore, through my activities as Vice Chairman of the Kyoto Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Vice Chairman of the Kyoto Industrial Association, I have been encouraged to contribute, albeit modestly, to the development of Kyoto's industry. Moving forward, I will continue to support each employee's challenges as an honorary advisor and strive to contribute to the sustainable development of society.
