AI Suitcase and Demonstration Experiment at Osaka-Kansai Expo

笆What is AI Suitcase?

"AI Suitcase" is a suitcase-type robot developed for the purpose of automatically guiding people with visual impairments to their destinations. So far, Miraikan and the CAAMP have been conducting demonstration experiments by general users in indoor facilities such as large shopping malls, airports, and Miraikan, as well as outdoor public areas, through mutual technical cooperation. From April 2024, we conduct regular trial operations at Miraikan every day and accumulate more empirical data to further improve our navigation technology.

笆Demonstration experiment at the Osaka-Kansai Expo

AI suitcases are being used in the Smart Mobility Expo Robot Experience of the "Future Society Showcase Project" at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. Multiple AI suitcases will be operated simultaneously from April to October 2025 at the venue, to verify the technical issues of the operation model for social implementation.
