We are steadily reducing our environmental impact throughout the OMRON Group value chain by committing to achieving decarbonization by 2050, a circular economy and co-existence with nature.

Environmental Policy
We minimise our impact on the planet through our Environmental Policy and the OMRON Principles.
Our long-term vision 窶牢haping the Future窶 for 2030 describes how we aim to mitigate climate change. This is supported by climate-related targets under the SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative). Our climate-related reporting is aligned with the TCFD (Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosures). These external validations allow us to credibly respond to climate change and coordinate our targets with the Paris Agreement.
Greenhouse Gases (GHGs)
We are committed to contribute to a decarbonized society by reducing our Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions.
Concrete targets for 2030 and 2050 reinforce this decarbonization goal. We are reducing GHG emissions steadily every year to achieve these targets, exercising energy conservation and using cleaner electricity from renewable energy sources. In FY2022 the decrease of our Scope 1 and 2 emissions is 62% compared to FY2016 levels.
Chemicals
We are reducing our environmental impact by managing chemical substances.
We aim to reduce the negative impact of chemical substances on people, organisms and the environment. We do this through rigorous in-house control, as well as working in conformance with applicable laws, regulations and trends in all the countries we operate in.
Waste & Recycling
We are decreasing waste at all production sites, to transition towards a circular economy and society.
This is being realized by minimized and efficient use of resources, sustainable product design and stringent chemical waste management. We are working with our colleagues, partners and customers to promote reuse and recycling in Japan, for example by collecting and recycling OMRON products.
Supply chain
We are dedicated to mitigating our environmental impact in the OMRON Group value chain, together with our suppliers.
We do this through sustainable procurement practices: our suppliers窶 environmental and chemical management systems must be in line with our vision on contributing to a sustainable society.
