  • June 26, 2024

OMRON Corporation (HQ: Shimogyo-Ku, Kyoto. President and CEO: Junta Tsujinaga) announced today that it has newly formulated "OMRON AI Policy".

With the rapid evolution of AI, the G7, the OECD, the United Nations, and other organizations are demanding that countries take measures to ensure the safe and appropriate use of AI, not only for its benefits but also for its ethics and risks. Against this backdrop, OMRON, as a global company, has been working to formulate and publicize its policy in response to the needs of the world.

OMRON has developed products and services that incorporate AI, and the number of products and services that use AI is expected to increase. Based on the newly formulated "OMRON AI Policy", OMRON will guide the appropriate use of AI within the OMRON Group, minimize the risk of accidents and human rights violations caused by using AI while promoting safety and security. In addition, OMRON will continue to work on AI governance, build and operate appropriate rules and systems based on the latest laws and regulations, develop human resources, and engage in dialogue with stakeholders.
