OMRON to Exhibit at the International Robot Exhibition 2023
A Sneak Preview of Manufacturing Sites that Help Humans and Machines Maximize their Potential

  • November 20, 2023

OMRON Corporation (HQ: Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto; President & CEO: Junta Tsujinaga) is pleased to announce that it will exhibit at the International Robot Exhibition 2023 (iREX 2023), which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight from November 29 (Wed) to December 2 (Sat), 2023.

On exhibit will be two sets of next-generation concept production lines, both an embodiment of OMRON窶冱 窶彿nnovative-Automation窶 concept for manufacturing innovation. Guests will be shown futuristic 窶徇anufacturing sites窶 reproduced on the largest scale ever. Upon arriving at the OMRON booth, they are invited to experience a never-before-seen production line that is sustainable, highly competitive, and meets the demands of decarbonization while drawing out the full potential of both humans and machines. Come experience the future of manufacturing!

<Main exhibits>
1. Two sets of next-generation concept production lines

The first next-generation concept production line to be assembled there is a 窶彷ully-automated production line that transcends human abilities,窶 which mitigates the ever-worsening labor shortage in the manufacturing sector across the globe. Leveraging robotic integrated control, digital twin, and other technologies, this innovative production line not only robotizes the manual dexterity of skilled artisans but also automates various tasks such as adjusting and maintaining equipment, which has been dependent on engineers窶 sensitivity. The other one is a 窶彷lexible production line that achieves harmony between humans and machines,窶 capable of responding to rapid changes in demand for products. With a high degree of freedom, this robotic cell line allows the layout of manufacturing sites to be changed quickly by flexibly changing the roles of humans and machines according to shifts in production volume.

2. OMRON窶冱 one-of-a-kind innovative application technologies
Both production lines realize their purposes by using primarily robots and one-of-a-kind innovative application technologies to combine OMRON窶冱 diverse lineup of control devices (ILOR+S*) in a sophisticated manner. At the booth, our application engineers, who created these production lines, will be there to talk about the key points of their creations and share their know-how on how to maximize the performance of equipment.

3. Energy productivity solution made possible by i-BELT, a data utilization service for co-creation
Visitors will also learn about what OMRON is doing to develop solutions that maximize energy productivity at the manufacturing site, where productivity and quality are required in equal measure. OMRON became the first Japanese company in the manufacturing industry to join the EP100 initiative and, in fiscal 2022, increased the energy productivity of its Industrial Automation Business by 1.3 times compared to that in fiscal 2016. Showcased here is the know-how accumulated thus far to achieve the targets and services designed to enhance energy productivity.
