Yoshitaka Ushiku
Vice President for Research, OMRON SINIC X Corporation

Ushiku completed the doctoral program in the University of Tokyo窶冱 Graduate School of Information Science and Technology in March, 2014. In April of the same year he became a Fellow of the NTT Communication Science Laboratories. In 2016 he joined the University of Tokyo as a Lecturer (Harada/Ushiku Laboratory). In October 2018, he joined OMRON SINIC X as a Principal Investigator, and was appointed to his current post in April 2024. His current research includes image caption generation, image recognition, and cross-media understanding.Ushiku is also the Chief Research Officer at Ridge-i, a Lecturer (part-time) at Tohoku University, and Chief Executive Officer of Nine Bulls, LLC.

Satoshi Kurihara
Professor, Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University; President, The Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence and an Outside Director, OMRON SINIC X Corporation

Kurihara completed his studies in Keio University窶冱 Graduate School of Science and Technology with a PhD in Engineering. He took up his current post in 2018 after working at NTT Basic Research Laboratories, Osaka University, and the University of Electro-Communications. He is the Research Supervisor of the Social Transformation Platform in the Japan Science and Technology Agency窶冱 Strategic Basic Research Programs, and Chair of the Ethics Committee of The Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence. His other positions include Director of the Keio University Center for Advanced Research for Human-AI Symbiosis Society, Director of the Keio AIC Generative AI Laboratory, and member of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications窶 Information and Communications Law Research Group. He is engaged in research in areas including multi-agent systems, complex network science and computational social science. He has authored many books, including AI Heiki to Mirai Shakai Kira Robotto no Shotai [AI Weapons and Killer Robots in Future Society] (Asahi Shinsho).
