INTERVIEW 01
The reason I chose OMRON DIGITAL was because I thought it would be exciting if I could see the products I developed in my own daily life.
OMRON DIGITAL develops products that are widely used in everyday life, such as credit card payment terminals used in stores, ticket vending machines and ticket gates used at train stations, and text input systems for smartphones. I thought there would be many chances to see the products I worked on when walking around town. After joining, I found that I came across more products than I had imagined, and I felt that this is truly a company that contributes to society.
I have also liked making things since I was a child, but I had little experience in software-based development, so I wanted to give it a try.
INTERVIEW 02
I mainly develop credit card payment software for self-service terminals such as hotel check-in kiosks and station ticket vending machines.
In this development work, I decide on design policies based on customer requirements and carry out tasks from detailed design through to testing, working together with colleagues and partner companies to shape the product. Because the systems handle credit cards, I place particular emphasis on quality, ensuring that no problems occur in areas such as finance or security.
INTERVIEW 03
I feel enjoyment at work when I gain new knowledge and skills.
Because it is necessary to have specialized knowledge to develop payment systems, as a new employee, I often did not understand what was happening, and I could not even pinpoint issues that occurred during my testing without constantly relying on my more senior colleagues. Now, through many work experiences, I have refined my knowledge and skills, and I am able to make logical judgments about issues on my own, answer questions from customers and colleagues accurately, and even propose solutions to anticipated problems.
I understand that I still cannot solve many things on my own, but I want to keep on growing by working through my daily tasks and increasing the number of things I can handle independently.
INTERVIEW 04
I want to be someone who is trusted not only by my coworkers but also by those outside the company, someone whose judgment can be trusted and someone they want to work with.
For that, I think it is important to always respond to any questions from colleagues or external partners quickly and accurately, to confirm with coworkers and junior staff so that they can carry out their work smoothly without feeling overwhelmed, and to always meet deadlines and maintain quality. I want to keep these things in mind and apply them as I carry out my daily work.
