Station operations system development

INTERVIEW 01

Why did you choose OMRON DIGITAL when you were job hunting?

At university I majored in information technology, and during my job search I wanted to find work where I could make the world better through software. When I attended the Omron Group information session, I was deeply impressed by the corporate motto: “With our work, we improve lives and create a better society.” I was also drawn to the fact that the company supports society through software in a variety of fields, including railways and mobile. That led me to want to join.

INTERVIEW 02

What kind of work are you currently responsible for?

I mainly design control software for ticket vending machines.

Most recently, I was involved in developing the data processing that sends sales data from ticket vending machines to the railway company’s revenue management server, as well as in modifying the layout of the customer-facing screen.

INTERVIEW 03

Please share an episode where you felt fulfillment, excitement, or joy in your work.

Because ticket vending machines are devices that I myself regularly use, I feel fulfillment in thinking about how to design them so that they can be “more convenient for everyone to use.”

Even for the same type of ticket vending machine, the specifications requested by customers often differ. By considering the background behind those requests while proceeding with design, I noticed the particular priorities of each customer, and I found it interesting that I could connect that understanding to making proposals from our side.

When I saw customers actually using ticket vending machines that I had worked on developing, I was, of course, very happy.

INTERVIEW 04

What are your goals and dreams for the future?

I aim to be an engineer who makes effective proposals that not only meet the requested specifications but also reflect both the developer's and the user's perspectives.
