INTERVIEW 01
At university, I majored in information science, mainly researching speech information processing and the analysis of accumulated data on human behavior. In my job search, I focused on finding a company where I could “use software technology to benefit many people and society,” which I had learned at university. That led me to the Omron Group, which is involved in a wide range of businesses, and I decided to apply to OMRON DIGITAL, the software development company of the group. Another factor was that during my job search I was able to hear directly from someone at OMRON DIGITAL through a senior from my university. Listening to their first-hand account allowed me to clearly imagine what it would be like to work at OMRON DIGITAL. Before joining, I was particularly interested in areas such as payment systems and mobile solutions.
INTERVIEW 02
My main responsibilities are system development, maintenance, and operation for credit card payment services, electronic money payment services, and point services. Recently, I have had more opportunities to attend meetings with customers and hear their needs directly. Based on this input, I think daily about new development or improvements to existing functions, but creating systems that exceed expectations is always a challenge. The systems I handle comply with PCI-DSS, the international security standard for payment card information, and require year-round planned maintenance and operation in order to maintain compliance. Because providing a safe and reliable system for users is an essential requirement, I take on my work with a strong sense of responsibility.
INTERVIEW 03
One recent experience that gave me a sense of fulfillment was when I was responsible for system migration work at a customer’s office. While working on-site, an unexpected issue caused temporary confusion, and we had to hold an emergency meeting with all parties involved. Even in such circumstances, we persisted in tackling the problem, and when we finally solved it together with the customer, I not only felt a sense of accomplishment but was also deeply appreciated by the customer. That gave me a strong sense of purpose. In other cases, when my ideas for new functions or system operation methods are adopted and I see them actually working in practice, I feel both joy and excitement.
INTERVIEW 04
My goal is to create new systems that make society better. At present, most of my work involves modifying existing systems at OMRON DIGITAL or developing systems to support functions that already exist in the market. I think it would be exciting to be involved in developing a new system that is the first of its kind in Japan or even in the world. To achieve this, I intend not only to carry out my current responsibilities carefully, but also to actively express my ideas and continue deepening my knowledge across different business fields.
