INTERVIEW 01
My basic approach to job hunting was to “create things that are useful and convenient for people” and to “find work where I could apply what I had studied.”
When I was a university student, I attended a company introduction session held by alumni. That was when I first learned about OMRON DIGITAL and heard that it develops products in familiar areas such as mobile, railways, and payment systems. I found out that in the mobile business in particular, the company provides a text input product called “iWnn IME” (the keyboard that appears when typing on smartphones), which comes preinstalled on many Android smartphones. It was even installed on the Android phone I was using at the time. Realizing that it is a product used daily by people all over the world, I strongly felt that this was where I could fulfill my aspirations, which made me decide to apply.
INTERVIEW 02
I am responsible for the development and maintenance support of the text input system “iWnn.”
On the development side, I work on function design, implementation, and testing when enhancing the product.
On the maintenance support side, I assist customers with configuration and implementation when they use “iWnn.”
INTERVIEW 03
In maintenance support in particular, I often have direct contact with customers, and sometimes I receive inquiries about situations where the system does not behave as they intended.
There are cases where the cause is not easy to identify, and I have worked together with customers to get to the root of the problem. After many rounds of communication, when we finally identified the cause and resolved the issue, I felt both the joy of building trust with the customer and a strong sense of achievement.
INTERVIEW 04
In the future, I want to create new products that make people’s lives more convenient. It would be ideal if what I developed became something commonly used in society.
