Announcing the establishment of OMRON VENTURES Corporation

Effective July 1, 2014, OMRON Corporation (headquartered in Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan; Mr. Yoshihito Yamada, President and CEO) established OMRON VENTURES Corporation for the purpose of accelerating its creation of new business. This new investment subsidiary will be in charge of corporate venture capital to bolster OMRON's partnership with venture firms.
It is slated to make venture investments on the order of 3 billion yen over the three-year period fiscal 2014 - 2016.

OMRON recognize the need for open innovation unbound by conventional frameworks in order to resolve diverse problems and issues facing society at large. Besides we are going to continue reinforcing its technical capabilities and business grounded in the sensing and control technology at its core, we believe that we will be better able to probe various business possibilities accelerating innovation and going beyond existing boundaries by delivering solutions for such problems and issues in partnership with venture firms inside and outside Japan aiming for the resolution of social problems and issues.

OMRON will create new value linked to the resolution of problems and issues in society at large through supporting for the growth of venture firms making full application of OMRON's craftsmanship and global network.
