OMRON executives greet India's Energy Minister Goyal
Mr. Piyush Goyal, India's Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy, visited Tokyo to attend the 8th India-Japan Energy Dialogue held January 12-14, 2016. He participated in the dialogue with his Japanese counterpart, Mr. Motoo Hayashi, Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. The ministers discussed a wide range of issues related to the energy sector. They then signed a joint statement of agreement to deepen their ongoing comprehensive bilateral cooperation.
During his visit, Minister Goyal also met Japanese business leaders to discuss India's key energy issues, with the aim of strengthening their technological partnership. At an interactive session on the theme of Smart Grids and Smart Meters, OMRON presented its solution for boosting energy efficiency to Mr. Goyal and the members of India's delegation. The innovative solution was developed in cooperation with a local Indian company.
In recognition of OMRON's presentation, Minister Goyal remarked, "This solution appropriately addresses current conditions and issues facing India from the country's perspective."
The government of India is seeking to realize sustainable energy growth and consumption, along with an improved quality of life for its people by employing cutting-edge technologies. Over many years, OMRON has refined its core sensing and control technology deployed across the globe. By drawing on this experience, OMRON is determined to continue developing technologies that can contribute to the enrichment of India's society and help solve energy issues throughout the world.
