  • March 6, 2024

OMRON Corporation announced today that it has been selected as one of the Top 100 Global Innovators 2024 by Clarivate, ranking among the top 100 organizations leading the world in technology research and innovation. This is the ninth award in eight consecutive years.

Top 100 Global Innovators 2024

Clarivate selects the Top 100 Global Innovators based on their proprietary patent data. This global information service firm analyzes intellectual property trends using an independent index in order to identify the world窶冱 most innovative corporations and research institutions, thereafter recognizing them for their outstanding traits. The evaluation of this award is based on a twin track approach. The first track focuses on identifying innovating organizations that pass qualification criteria based on the volume of inventive activity: 500 published inventions since 2000 and 100 granted inventions during the past five years. They then compare innovators based on the proportion and level of international inventions (ideas patented in more than one country or region), creating an international innovator weighting factor. The second track scores inventions on four factors: Influence, Success, Investment, and Technical distinctiveness. Based on this evaluation methodology, the Top 100 Global Innovators 2024 list recognizes the 100 most exceptional innovators. Among these criteria, OMRON was rated particularly high for Influence and Investment.

OMRON has mapped out an intellectual property strategy linked to business and R&D strategies to utilize their intellectual property in business based on the OMRON Principles, thus promoting intellectual property activities in the global arena through the integration of business, technology, and intellectual property.
