To evaluate whether video-understanding AI can accurately capture fine-grained events, we introduce VidOmni-Bench. It verifies AI-generated descriptions sentence by sentence against the video, testing whether models can identify plausible but incorrect statements. Our results show that current models not only generate false descriptions but also struggle to recognize their own errors, with different weaknesses emerging depending on video length and complexity.
