OMRON Corporation (HQ: Shimogyo-Ku, Kyoto. President and CEO: Yoshihito Yamada; hereinafter, "OMRON") and IBM Japan, Ltd. (HQ: Chuo-Ku, Tokyo. General Manager and President: Akio Yamaguchi; hereinafter "IBM Japan") announced today the signing of an agreement on a partnership program between the two companies with a view toward expediting the Corporate System Project (hereinafter, CSPJ), the OMRON Group's ongoing initiative to solidify the foundation of management systems that bring about evolution to data-driven corporate management.

On April 1, 2022, OMRON kicked off its long-term vision for fiscal 2030, "Shaping the Future 2030 (SF2030)." Guided by this new future vision, OMRON aims to maximize its corporate value by working together with its stakeholders to shape a sustainable society through the diligent practice of the OMRON Principles. As part of SF2030, OMRON has also drawn up the medium-term management plan, "SF 1st Stage," which covers a three-year period from fiscal 2022 to fiscal 2024, and set up the group-wide policy of "An attempt at value creation by accelerating transformation." Under this policy, in the SF 1st Stage OMRON will accelerate transformation in the two domains of "Business" and "Corporate management and organizational capabilities." In the latter domain, OMRON will expedite the CSPJ in order to achieve evolution to data-driven corporate management through digital transformation (DX), which allows us to analyze a vast amount of data obtained in the course of business and operation and reflect analysis results in management decisions.

The CSPJ seeks to develop the foundation of global management systems, which encompass the standardization of business processes and the future utilization of data, as well as the renewal of information technology (IT) infrastructure. As such, it is one of the most important projects for the OMRON Group.
For the CSPJ to make a meaningful impact on the OMRON Group on a global basis, we need professional partners who, with a great deal of necessary skill, have a proven track record of successfully assisting global enterprises in their reform efforts. It is thus only natural for OMRON to choose IBM Japan as a signee to its Partnership Program for promoting the CSPJ. Through the partnership with IBM Japan, OMRON will work on a variety of measures to promote data-driven corporate management by steadily implementing the CSPJ.

In a bid to work closely with its customers in bringing about DX, IBM Japan in May 2020 announced its new comprehensive service in the form of a Digital Transformation Partnership, in which it taps into its wealth of technology for joint development with customers. Leveraging its solid track record, skills, and advanced technology it has cultivated globally at its command, IBM Japan will forge ahead with OMRON's DX through the robust partnership, thus assisting OMRON in sustaining business growth and enhancing competitiveness.
