Atsushi Hashimoto is a senior researcher in Perception Group. He has been working on activity-forecast-based human-computer interaction for assembling and cooking tasks.
He received B.S. degree in Engineering, M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Informatics from Kyoto University, Japan, in 2005, 2008, and 2013, respectively.
Felix von Drigalski
Felix von Drigalski is a senior researcher in Robotics Group. His research interests include robotic manipulation, tactile sensing and automated assembly.
He earned engineering diplomas (MSc level) from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the INSA Lyon in 2013, and a Ph.D. from the Nara Institute of Science and Technology in 2018 as a MEXT government scholar. His teams took 1st place in the Airbus Shop Floor Challenge at ICRA 2016, 6th place in the Amazon Robotics Challenge 2017 and 4th place in the World Robot Summit 2018 Assembly Challenge.
Jiaxin Ma is a senior researcher in Interaction Group. His research interests include machine learning, human machine interface, and biomedical signal applications.
He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering and Science from Kyoto University in 2015. In 2012, he was a research intern of RIKEN Brain Science Institute, and a visiting scholar of Johns Hopkins University. During 2015-2018, he was working at Teijin Pharma as a biomedical engineer. He is also a gamer and MTG player.
Kazutoshi Tanaka is a senior researcher in Robotics Group. He received his Ph.D. degree in Information Science and Technology from the University of Tokyo in 2017. 2017-2019, Postdoctoral fellow at department of Mechano-Informatics in the University of Tokyo.
His research focuses on Robotics performing sports (human-robot Interaction, mechanics, control, motion learning). 2018, RSJ Young Investigation Excellence Award. 2018, INNO of the Strategic Information and Communications R&D Promotion Programme (SCOPE) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan.
Mai Nishimura is a research engineer in Perception Group. Her research interests include 3D computer vision, MRF optimization, and GPU-accelerated machine learning.
She received B.E. and M.S. degree from the Kyoto University in 2013 and 2015. In 2012, she interned as a software engineer at Google Japan, Inc, and in 2013, she also interned as a researcher at IBM Tokyo Research Laboratory. During 2015-2017, she was working for NTT Research Laboratories as a researcher. In 2017-2019, she was at Fixstars, Inc. as a senior software engineer.
Masashi Hamaya is a senior researcher in Robotics Group. His research focuses on Robotics (human-robot Interaction, robot manipulation).
He received his Ph.D. degree in Engineering from Osaka University in 2019. 2014-2019, Intern student at department of Brain Robot Interface in ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratories. 2017 Jul.-2017 Sep., Visiting scholar at Robotics Institute in Carnegie Mellon University. 2018, IEEE Kansai Section Student Paper Award. 2019, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Japan Joint Chapter Young Award.
Ryo Yonetani is a senior researcher in Perception Group. He received his Ph.D. in Informatics from Kyoto University in 2013. His research interests include computer vision (first-person vision, action recognition) and machine learning (decentralized deep learning, privacy-preserving machine learning).
From 2014-2018 he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Tokyo. In 2016-2017 he was a visiting scholar at Carnegie Mellon University.

Tatsunori Taniai is a senior researcher in Perception Group. His research interests include geometric and photometric 3D vision, correspondence estimation, MRF optimization, and application of deep learning.
He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Tokyo in 2017. During 2017-2019, he was with RIKEN AIP Center as a postdoctoral researcher. In 2012-2016, he also interned at Microsoft Research in Redmond and Beijing, and won a Microsoft Research Asia Fellowship in 2015.
Yoshihisa Ijiri is the research organizer of OMRON SINICX Corporation. His research interests include computer vision, robotics, and machine learning.
He earned B.E. and M.A. degrees from Kyoto institute of technology in 2000 and 2002, respectively and Ph.D. degree from Nagoya University in 2012. He entered OMRON Corporation in 2002 and he has engaged to launch and direct the OMRON SINIC X Corporation as Research Organizer in 2018.
Yoshitaka Ushiku is the principal investigator of Perception Group at OMRON SINIC X Corporation.
He received his B.E., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Tokyo in 2009, 2011, and 2014, respectively. His research interests lie in computer vision and natural language processing, with a particular interest in vision and language.
Hiroshi Imai is the division manager of Near-future Design Division & General Administrative Division of OMRON SINIC X Corporation. He has engaged in planning and developing new businesses that are technology driven, especially for IoT and sensing data handling technology with 10 years for OMRON Corporation.
He received his Ph.D. degree from Tohoku University in 2009 and, he received his MBA degree from Graduate School of Management, GLOBIS University in 2019.
Masaki Suwa is the president & chief specialist of technology. His research interest covers the field of sensing, signal processing and opto-electronics.
He worked for OMRON Corporation before assuming the present post. He is also the Visiting Professor at NAIST Graduate School of Science and Technology, and Graduate School of Life Science and Systems Engineering.
He received his Ph.D. degrees from the School of Science and Engineering, Ritsumeikan University. He has been engaged in R&D of imaging sensor. His professional career has extended the range of interest on sensing including image and light.
Naoya Chiba is a Project Researcher in Interaction Group. His research interests include 3D sensing, point cloud processing, and compressive sensing.
He received his B.E., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from Tohoku University in 2016, 2018, and 2020, respectively. His work has been awarded Best Paper Finalists for 2 papers at ROBIO 2019 and IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Japan Joint Chapter Young Award at ICRA 2018.
