Yoshihito TakabuCEO
Tommy Takabu has been the CEO of OMRON Ventures Co., Ltd. since March 2024, after assuming the role of Representative Director in December 2023. He is also responsible for the Strategy and Business Architect Unit at Innovation Exploring Initiative H.Q. (IXI). Tommy joined OMRON in 2015, where he led a restructuring project and was involved in M&A projects within the Business Development Department. Prior to his tenure at OMRON, he began his career at NEC, where he was in charge of semiconductor business sales and marketing in the U.S. market and later spearheaded startup investments and license negotiations. Subsequently, he joined Marvell Japan K.K., leading account management in the Japanese market.

Nosuke KamiyaDIRECTOR
Naosuke joined OMRON Corporation as a Manager of Innovation Exploring Initiative (“IXI”) in December 2021. He started to double hat as a Director of OMRON Ventures from December 2022. He also currently serves as the Head of M&A Group in OMRON. Prior to joining OMRON, he was a Director at Investment Banking Division of BofA Securities Co., Ltd. (ex. Merrill Lynch Japan Securities Co., Ltd.). Through his 12 years career in the banking industry, he also served at UBS Investment Bank and Nikko Citigroup Limited. He also has experience working at The Boston Consulting Group. Education: BA of Economics, The University of Tokyo (March 2009)
Kaori OkumuraMANAGER
Kaori Okumura started her career in the IP department of a major semiconductor manufacturer where she engaged in domestic and international patent administration. She then joined the Omron group and got involved in patent and trademark control, litigation, and crackdown and border control on counterfeit products. In 2018, she expanded her range of work to PR and organizational management in addition to IP. She applied a wealth of her experience and knowledge to the launch of OMRON Corporation’s Global Corporate Venturing Office in 2022 where she supported CVC activities through back-office operations in PR, HR, accounting, and administration. Since 2023, she has been serving as a member of Omron Ventures out of her aspiration to create a bridge between Omron and startups.
Akito TakamatsuMANAGER
Born in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. After graduating from Doshisha University Graduate School (MBA), he joined MISUMI Corporation. He was involved in launching new businesses and turning around underperforming businesses. He was stationed at MISUMI Korea for nearly three years and was responsible for business and marketing strategies in Japan and overseas. After that, he worked at DMM, launching new businesses at ventures and serving as an executive in charge of JVs. In April 2023, he joined OMRON Corporation as a Manager of Innovation Exploring Initiative (“IXI”) . He is concurrently serving at OMRON Ventures.
Atsushi TanakaSENIOR ASSOCIATE
Atsushi Tanaka joined OMRON Corporation’s Innovation Exploring Initiative HQ in 2023. Since 2024, he has been concurrently working for OMRON Ventures Co., Ltd. to accelerate co-creation projects of competent startups and OMRON’s core businesses.
Prior to OMRON, he worked at a startup company and successfully launched a new business using autonomous driving technology. Before joining the company, he worked at an energy company as a recent graduate, where he was involved in product development and overseas business. He holds an MBA from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.
Akane NakashimaASSOCIATE
Akane Nakashima has been in charge of investment management of OMRON Ventures since April 2024. She joined OMRON Corporation as an engineer right after she earned a MEng, and since then she had worked mainly on the development of control technology in the R&D section for 12 years. Examining the feasibility and commercialization of cutting-edge technologies and acquiring competent patents are what Akane especially engaged in during her years at R&D. After having experienced the administrative duties at R&D, she started working on those duties at CVC in 2022, where she had gained a broad range of skills and knowledge in internal control, information security, export control, and internal regulations. Her outstanding perseverance and knowledge with a technical background is bringing an advantage to OMRON Ventures.
Tomoya MizumotoSPECIALIST OF FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING
Tomoya joined Omron Corporation as a new graduate and started his career in the sales and business planning for distributors at Industrial Automation Business Company (IAB) section. He then transferred to the head office's Global Financial and Accounting H.Q. (GFA) where he not only engaged in overall duties concerning financial statements but the planning, design, and operation of new performance management systems following the introduction of the Business Company segmentation accounting system. He subsequently served as the accounting manager at two business units, before returning to GFA., where he was responsible for tax audit support and the human resources system specifically designed for accounting financial specialists/associates. In March 2018, he started serving the role of accounting manager upon the establishment of Innovation Exploring Initiative H.Q.(IXI) section. He has been concurrently serving the accounting role of Omron Ventures Co., Ltd. since March 2024. He is a certified member of the Securities Analysts Association of Japan, and a graduate of the Faculty of Letters at Kobe University.
