OMRON listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for the First Time

OMRON Corporation(HQ: Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto. President and CEO: Yoshihito Yamada) announced that the company has been selected for the first time to be a component of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World). The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) are a family of best-in-class benchmarks for investors. DJSI is a sustainability investiment1 stock price index jointly compiled by Dow Jones & Company, Inc.2 in the United States and Switzerland-based RobecoSAM, a research company that conducts corporate sustainability assessment (CSA). DJSI is used to assess the sustainability of the world's major companies from economic, environmental, and social perspectives. Approximately 3,500 major companies in the world were shortlisted for DJSI World, with 319 companies including 32 Japanese companies selected for inclusion in this year's index.

Dow Jones Sustainability Indices

OMRON contributes to a sustainable society by solving social issues through its business, creating numerous innovations and world-class products. By making sustainability goals part of its VG2.0 medium-term management plan, the Company is accelerating business activities and implementing the OMRON Principles to further its long-term commitment to all stakeholders.3

OMRON has also been listed in the MSCI Global Sustainability Indexes for three straight years. Additionally, the FTSE 4 Good Index Series and the STOXX Global ESG Leaders Index selected OMRON stock in fiscal 2016. Environmental, social, and governance initiative assessment institutions around the world have lauded OMRON's sustainability activities, leading to its stock being included in ESG indices in Japan and abroad. In July this year, the Government Pension Investment Fund of Japan chose OMRON stock for its three environmental, social, and governance indices. The stock has remained a component of the Morningstar Socially Responsible Investment Index since the inception of that benchmark in 2003.3
