"Danger! You're dozing. Please park the car and rest for a while."

Taxi drivers work until very late at night after long hours of driving, so it's no wonder that a driver might doze off while driving. In this example, the onboard navigation system detects that the driver is starting to doze off, so it issues a loud alarm message. The driver is awakened suddenly and decides to take a little rest as instructed by the system. With a car such as this that could detect the driver's condition, late-night drivers could drive more safely, comfortably and with greater piece of mind.
The technology that makes it all possible
OKAO Vision
The facial conditions estimation technology now being developed for OKAO Vision is designed to recognize a person's expressions and conditions based on camera-recorded facial images. The goal is to create machines capable of understanding each person's conditions and providing services that are suitable for each person's situation.
