"I have to leave now. Can you send the data to my mobile phone?"

- Mr A receives a huge volume of data from a supplier right as he was leaving the office. He needs to check the data right away but doesn't have time to transfer it to CD-ROM. So he asks his assistant to send all the data to his mobile phone. Because his mobile phone is broadband enabled, it can send and receive large amounts of information at amazingly high speed. Moreover, image quality is very high, comparable to high-definition TV. Thus, he no longer needs to carry around a laptop PC with him.

MEMS RF Switch
A mobile phone incorporates many semiconductor switches that control various signals. In preparation for the soon-to-emerge high-frequency communications age, OMRON is now developing an ultracompact MEMS RF switch with a size one-fortieth that of a conventional mechanical switch and with the ability to handle 10 times as high frequencies as a semiconductor switch.
