OMRON Introduces Advanced Automation Solutions for the Growing Automobile Industry in 4 Asian Countries

The Japanese word monozukuri has already become a part of the global lexicon. This proves that the art and expertise of manufacturing that Japan has accumulated has been attracting increasing attention worldwide.

OMRON has made a significant contribution to the improvements in productivity and quality of the automobile industry in Japan. In the process, the company has accumulated extensive knowledge regarding the needs of automobile manufacturers. OMRON is determined to contribute to the development of Asian countries in which automobile production is becoming a key industry. To this end, OMRON will offer its proprietary new automation solutions to tackle advanced manufacturing issues. Based on this determination, OMRON participated in the Manufacturing Conference 2014.

The conference was held in four countries in Asia, and drew some 1,200 decision makers and management executives from local automakers. OMRON’s exhibit of demo machines also attracted the interest of many visitors. Some visitors presented problems they face at their plants and OMRON engineers made suggestions to solve each specific issue.

Dates and Venues of the Manufacturing Conference 2014

The Manufacturing Conference 2014 was held in four Asian countries from August to December.
August 27 (Wednesday) in Bangkok, Thailand
September 18 (Thursday) in New Delhi, India
November 12 (Thursday) in Jakarta, Indonesia
December 10 (Wednesday) in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam

At each venue, a representative from a local OMRON Group company delivered a lecture. Two solutions were also introduced using demo machines: Sysmac and iCAD-linked solutions and quality control solutions via Sysmac’s database connectivity. Both solutions are designed to significantly reduce the worker-hours needed for design tasks in the production process.
