Encouraging self-reliance at factories run by disabled staff results in reduced expenditures
During fiscal 2007, although expenditures in the field of social welfare increased, those related to science and technology decreased. OMRON Taiyo and OMRON Kyoto Taiyo, factories staffed and run by the disabled, also transformed their business structures to promote self-reliance. As a result, OMRON's total community involvement expenditures declined 95 million yen from the previous year.

Science & Technology
- Supporting the 18th Granting of Subsidies by the Tateisi Science and Technology Foundation
Subsidies were granted for 27 research projects and 12 international exchanges projects. - Donating FA kit to Matsue College of Technology
Social Welfare
- Kyoto OMRON Community Foundation Humanity Awards presentation
- Supporting KIDS Project (volunteers to escort children with disabilities at Tokyo Disneyland)
- Supporting "Puppy Coat" project by Kansai Guide Dogs for the Blind Association
- Cosponsoring 27th Oita International Wheelchair Marathon
- Cosponsoring 19th All-Japan Long-distance Wheelchair Relay Race
- Cosponsoring Asian Dream Cup 2007 wheelchair basketball competition
- Organizing ski training course for people with disabilities together with Professional Ski Instructors Association of Japan
Arts & Culture
- Cosponsoring songwriting contest organized by Tanpopo-no-Ie Foundation
- Cosponsoring 2007 International Cooperation Concert organized by the Japan International Volunteer Center
- Organizing OMRON Cultural Forum jointly with the NHK Kyoto Culture Center
- Supporting pipe organ concerts organized by the Kyoto Concert Hall
International Cooperation
- Participating in a knitting charity project for children worldwide
OMRON donated 61 sweaters for Mongolian children. - Supporting the Foster Parents project organized by NGO Plan Japan
OMRON supported eight foster children.
Environmental Activities
- Donating solar power conditioners to the Kyoto Green Fund (solar power plants)
- Cosponsoring the 2nd Greenery Day campaign
