Eliminating banned substances across the supply chain
OMRON's procurement policy follows the basic stance of not purchasing or using any raw materials or parts that contain banned chemical substances. According to this policy, in May 2004, OMRON established its Green Supplier Certification Standards. Key requirements are: acquisition of ISO 14001 or other third-party environmental management certification, and provision of information on hazardous chemical substances contained in parts or materials they supply, and proof thereof. In this way, OMRON is promoting green procurement while seeking cooperation from suppliers.
