Customized advice for promoting employee health
To promote the mental and physical health of employees, OMRON emphasizes the prevention of lifestyle diseases and other afflictions. As such, OMRON's Health Management Center provides medical advice tailored to each employee. As for mental healthcare, a part of the company's long-term commitment, OMRON has a plan to strengthen various systems.
Education and training related to mental health
OMRON Corporation has been conducting a mental health diagnosis survey for employees once every two years since fiscal 1991.
In fiscal 2007, OMRON improved its educational system to conform to the guidelines for maintaining and promoting workers' mental health, which was set forth under the provisions of Articles 69 and 70 of the Occupational Health and Safety Law. Based on this system, OMRON conducted a mental health seminar targeting all employees. Approximately 2,000 employees attended this seminar.
Preparedness for serious medical problems affecting employees in accordance with OMRON Crisis Management Rules
Should infection by highly pathogenic influenza or other viruses spread over a wide area, and health hazard affecting OMRON employees be likely to expand, OMRON will consider it as a major risk for the company and take necessary countermeasures against the problem in accordance with its Crisis Management Rules.
When the outbreak of SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) occurred, a SARS Countermeasures Headquarters was established, to deal with gathering information concerning situations facing OMRON Group companies throughout the world, reporting, sending caution and issuing guidelines for countermeasures among other tasks.
