Creating an environment that encourages anyone to seek advice

As part of the company's drive to enhance awareness of human rights, OMRON works to prevent harassment, whether sexual or otherwise, as stipulated in the "No Harassment" provision in the OMRON Group CSR Practice Guidelines. In 1999, a consultation/claim handling counter was opened at major sites in Japan. By announcing the names and departments of advisors through the intranet, and making female advisors available, OMRON works to create an environment in which anyone can consult with advisors easily and comfortably.

As of fiscal 2007, advisors and a consultation counter have become available in 58 sites covering all sites of OMRON Corporation and its Group companies in Japan. Moreover, no major sexual harassment problems have occurred to date.

Sept.-Oct. 2007 Training was conducted for representatives at the sexual harassment consultation counter and advisors at OMRON Corporation, including a seminar by an external expert and role play exercises involving consultation. 54
Sept. 2007 General sexual harassment training and advisor training were conducted for those in charge of instilling a human rights-oriented mindset at Group companies in Japan. Information was also shared about ongoing human rights-related activities and related issues at Group companies, as well as training on problems related to disabled persons. -
Dec. 2007 A consultation manual for handling sexual harassment issues was prepared for all OMRON Group companies in Japan. -

Training was carried out for review of sexual harassment issues, understanding the points of revisions on the revised Equal Employment Opportunity Law and learning about the sexual harassment consultation counter. 11,358
