Aiming to generate new value with a Planet Earth perspective

I would first like to offer my heartfelt sympathy to those affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and my sincere condolences to the people whose loved ones lost their lives.
To fulfill our corporate social responsibility, OMRON Group employees visited the affected areas immediately after the earthquake to provide support and participate in restoration activities, based on the conditions of the affected areas and requests from victims. We will continue to provide assistance for reconstruction of the affected areas.

Contributing to the development of a global society through "innovation driven by social needs"

In July 2011, OMRON launched Value Generation 2020 (VG2020), the OMRON Group’s new long-term strategy for the next ten years leading to 2020. With the vision: “Sense, Think and Control. For a brighter future for people and the Earth,” we will strive to generate new value and new benefits for our customers.

We believe that the key to our CSR efforts is to resolve societal issues through our business operations. Since the company’s inception, we have stayed true to our group’s core value of “working for the benefit of society.” Quick to sense emerging social needs, we have assisted societal progress and development by consistently providing products and services based on the anticipation of future needs. Now and into the future, we will preserve this abiding sprit of enterprise as our corporate DNA. By respecting the culture, traditions and customs of developing countries/regions as well as developed nations, we are determined to bring about a brighter future by generating new value. This can only be achieved through close engagement with our stakeholders, as we strive to meet their diversified value perceptions and needs in a precise manner.

Aware of our role as a member of the global community, we will address growing social needs from the perspective of the “Planet Earth.” These needs are related to people’s desire for safety and security and promotion of mental and physical health. At the same time, we will promote measures to combat depletion of resources and preserve the natural environment. According to our projection that environmental protection will continue to grow in importance as a global issue, we will maintain and strengthen our efforts to reduce CO2 emissions within the OMRON Group. Furthermore, we aim to promote our energy creation solutions business, including solar power conditioners, an essential component of photovoltaic power generation systems. We will also continue to promote our energy conservation solutions business, which is intended to help reduce energy usage throughout the world. By assisting our customers’ efforts at preserving the global environment, we are determined to contribute to the development of a sustainable resource-circulating society.

Making OMRON a company in which employees can experience personal growth

Of course, it is our staff members who will actually put VG2020 into practice. By respecting the personal qualities of individual employees and the diversity of our workforce, we will nurture strong-willed people who are well prepared for action with opportunities to grow and develop. This will help the OMRON Group staff experience the joy of challenging themselves, and take pride and satisfaction in the work they are engaged in.

We will make an all-out effort to transform OMRON into a prosperous, thriving global group. As always, we sincerely ask for your continued support and cooperation with the OMRON Group.
