Basic Policies

OMRON considers addressing environmental issues to be one of the most important management objectives for the Group. Accordingly, OMRON makes sure that all Group employees are provided with education and training regarding its environmental policies based on the OMRON Principles.
The “Green OMRON 21” environmental management vision encourages all employees to demonstrate concern for environmental protection. They should act on their own initiatives and take necessary action, whether at work, at home, in the local community or in society at large. This vision also aims to make OMRON serve as the center for heightening environmental awareness at both the local and global levels. As such, OMRON implements various environmental education and training programs.

FY2008 Overview

Fiscal 2008 is the initial year of the Kyoto Protocol’s first commitment period. Furthermore, the Eco-Volun initiative, a global corporate event to mark OMRON’s 75th anniversary, resulted in as many as 30,280 employees across the world participating in environmental preservation activities.
Solicitation of employee ideas for environmental proposals and slogans also attracted 1,409 entries for proposals and 9,029 entries for slogans, revealing employees’ active involvement with environmental activities.
