Preventing air, water and soil pollution

OMRON monitors and measures emissions of substances that impact the environment. With this information, OMRON implements measures to reduce emissions so as to prevent air and water pollution.

To prevent air pollution, OMRON has strived to restrict emissions of NOx (nitrogen oxides) and SOx (sulfur oxides) by discontinuing the use of boilers, switching fuel to low-sulfur heavy oil, implementing regular inspections and maintenance of equipment and facilities, and exercising more strict control over equipment operating time, along with other measures.

To prevent water pollution, OMRON has been working to reduce BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) and COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) by deploying a device to break down organic substances in the drainage path, and making regular inspections of water purifier tanks.
